Center Valley, Pa. - For the second straight Monday, Lehigh junior guard C.J. McCollum has been named the Patriot League Anaconda Men's Basketball Player of the Week while Holy Cross freshman guard Justin Burrell takes home the League's Anaconda Rookie of the Week honor.
McCollum averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in Lehigh's victories over Bucknell and Lafayette, and hit a highlight-reel three-pointer with 0.8 seconds left to beat the Bison on Thursday. Burrell averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds as Holy Cross beat both Lafayette and Bucknell to move into sole possession of fourth place in the Patriot League.

Anaconda Player of the Week
C.J. McCOLLUM, LEHIGH Jr., G, 6-3, 185; Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak
McCollum wins his second consecutive Patriot League Anaconda Player of the Week award, and sixth this season to tie the League record that he set last year. He also extends his career record to 12 Player of the Week honors, four more than any other player in Patriot League history. It all comes after a week where he led Lehigh to a pair of key victories that brought the Mountain Hawks to within a game of first-place Bucknell. McCollum scored 15 points with seven rebounds in a 56-53 win at Bucknell on Thursday, with his only three-pointer of the game winning it with 0.8 seconds remaining. He added 22 points and eight boards in a 72-53 win over Lafayette on Wednesday. McCollum averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in the victories, while shooting 14-of-30 from the field and making all seven of his free throw attempts. He is in the top 10 nationally in scoring (21.5) and steals (2.6) for the season, and also places in the top five of the Patriot League in rebounds (6.7) and assists (3.4) per game. McCollum passed 1,900 career points last week. He wins the Player of the Week honor for the fourth time during Patriot League play.
Anaconda Rookie of the Week
JUSTIN BURRELL, HOLY CROSS Fr., G, 5-9, 165, Dumfries, Va./Potomac
Burrell wins the Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week award for the second straight time for two strong performances in big victories for the Crusaders. He had 16 points as the Crusaders tied for fourth place with a 70-63 win at Lafayette on Wednesday, then added 15 points to lead a 54-52 upset of Bucknell on Saturday that gave Holy Cross a one-game lead for fourth in the Patriot League. Burrell averaged 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in the victories to go with his 15.5 points per game. He made 4-of-8 three-pointers in the two games and hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final minute of each of the victories. Burrell has scored in double figures nine times this season, including three of the last four games. He earns his third Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week award of the season.
CHARLES HINKLE, AMERICAN Sr., F, 6-5, 210, Los Alamitos, Calif./Hebron Academy (Maine)
Hinkle scored 18 points in each of American's victories last week, making a combined 13-of-23 shots and 7-of-11 three-pointers in wins over Navy and Army.
ELLA ELLIS, ARMY Jr., F, 6-7, 185; Houston, Texas/Eisenhower (USMAPS)
Ellis averaged 19.0 points in a pair of games for the Black Knights, with 22 in a 79-59 win over Colgate on Wednesday. He added 16 points against American on Saturday to extend his streak of double-figure scoring games to 29 and reach 1,000 points in his career.
