WEST POINT, N.Y. - With blizzard-like conditions projected for the Northeast from Saturday afternoon through mid-day Sunday, Patriot League officials have cancelled Sunday's national television broadcast of the Army-Navy men's basketball game.

While the contest itself is still slated to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at West Point's Christl Arena, league officials cited safety and travel concerns for television production personnel in pulling the plug on what would have been Army's first-ever men's basketball appearance on College Sports Television.

League officials will convene later this week to determine if another game will be substituted in the loop's 11-game television package for the 2004-05 campaign. Sunday's tilt was to be the only time both the Black Knights and Midshipmen were slotted for an appearance on the league-sponsored broadcast schedule.

Army will enter the game at 2-14 overall, 0-4 in the Patriot League, following Friday's 72-37 home loss to American. Navy (4-13, 0-4 PL) suffered a 79-56 defeat at the hands of homestanding Holy Cross Friday night.
