LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell men's basketball team wrapped up non-conference play on quite a roll, winning seven of its last eight games to improve to 9-7 on the season. Now Patriot League play is just around the corner, and head coach Dave Paulsen and select members of his team will talk about the recent hot streak and look ahead to Saturday's Navy game at the Lewisburg Hotel on Thursday for the monthly Backcourt Club Luncheon.
The luncheon gets started at noon, and the $8 admission fee includes a buffet meal and a raffle ticket to win prizes.
The Bison Club is sponsoring a fan bus to Saturday's Bucknell-Navy game in Annapolis, Md. The bus will depart from in front of the Kenneth Langone Athletics and Recreation Center at 3 p.m., and will arrive in Annapolis in time for the Bucknell pregame tailgate reception. Packages including bus ($21) and game ($8) tickets are available, or just a bus ticket can be purchased. Reception tickets are also available for $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Bucknell students can ride the fan bus at half price, and registered Bison Backers ride free, although game tickets must be purchased.
To register for the bus trip, please contact Todd Newcomb at 570-577-1771.
For those unable to make it to the Navy game in person, the 8 p.m. contest will air live on CBS College Sports. The network is available through most cable operators (check local listings), as well as on DIRECTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 152.
The Bison enter Patriot League play on a three-game winning streak, and they are 7-1 since Dec. 1. Most recently, Bucknell stunned 11-3 Richmond 62-61 Sunday on Mike Muscala's buzzer beater.
