Center Valley, Pa. - After solidifying their status as the top two freshmen in the Patriot League during the 2010 season, Holy Cross' Stephen Wadsworth and Navy's Ben Nelson have been honored on a national level with their recent selections to the PingBaseball.com 2010 Freshmen All-America Third Team.

The Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Wadsworth was also a Second-Team All-Patriot League choice and earned a spot on the Patriot League All-Tournament team. He finished his first collegiate season off with a .354 batting average, to go along with a .497 slugging percentage and a .419 on-base percentage. Wadsworth also totaled 25 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples, three home runs and 37 runs batted in. Defensively, he committed just five errors for a .975 fielding percentage behind the plate for the Crusaders.

Nelson emerged as one of the top pitchers in the Patriot League during his freshman campaign. He led the League with a 2.34 earned run average while sporting a 5-3 record. He appeared in 14 games, starting seven, and tossed three complete games. He also picked up one save. In 61.2 innings he gave up just 55 hits, while walking 15 and striking out 37. Opponents hit just .242 against him. Nelson was also named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America Team earlier this month.
