Center Valley, Pa. - Lehigh senior Greg Angelo continues to rake in awards after pitching a no-hitter on Sunday against Lafayette, as the reigning Patriot League Pitcher of the Week has received recognition from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, College Baseball Insider and the ECAC for his outstanding performance.

Angelo was named one of seven Louisville Slugger National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Monday, and received ECAC Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday. Angelo capped the week of recognition when College Baseball Insider named him the Northeast Co-Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday. He is the first Patriot Leaguer to earn a national honor this season, and the third in as many weeks to be recognized by the ECAC.

Angelo fired the 10th no-hitter in Patriot League history to push Lehigh past Lafayette, 2-0, in Sunday's opening game as part of a four-game sweep of their rival for the Mountain Hawks. Angelo completed Lehigh's first no-hitter since 1988, and first ever as a Patriot League member. Only two baserunners reached in the seven-inning game, one by error in the second and one by walk in the fourth. Angelo struck out four in the contest and set down the last 12 hitters he faced. It was the first no-hitter by a Patriot League pitcher since Navy's Sam Long did it against Lehigh on April 4 of last season. It was the eighth no-hitter in a Patriot League game, and seventh solo effort in League action.

Angelo leads Lehigh with a 2.33 ERA. He helped Lehigh to its first sweep over Lafayette since 2002, which also put the Mountain Hawks tied at the top of the League standings with Army. Lehigh also won two games in the Liberty Bell Classic last week, and was selected by College Baseball Insider as an honorable mention National Team of the Week for its 6-0 record.

Lehigh and Army will match up with first place on the line this weekend at West Point, one of three Patriot League weekend series that also include Lafayette at Holy Cross and Navy at Bucknell.
