TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- A trio of Patriot League student-athletes competed at the 2007 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship Monday at Indiana State University.
American's Brendan Fennell and Steve Hallinan as well as Army's John Mickowski ran at the championship. Fennell and Hallinan advanced after running strong races at the Mid-Atlantic Regional last month, while Mickowski qualified at the New England Regional event. Each runner also earned First-Team All-Patriot League accolades in 2007.
Fennell, who won the 2007 Patriot League Championship, finished in 119th place, followed by Hallinan (153rd) and Mickowski (207th).
The last time that the Patriot League had three individuals compete at the NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship was 1993, when Ray Appenheimer of Colgate finished 7th at the event. The Patriot League has been represented at each of the past seven NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships.
