Center Valley, Pa.- Next weekend will be a busy one for Patriot League Cross Country, as seven of the eight teams will compete on Saturday in their final tuneups before the Patriot League Championship on Nov. 1. Three Patriot League women's teams and five Patriot League men's teams are ranked in various USTFCCCA polls, the organization announced Monday. Student-athletes from Holy Cross won Patriot League Runner of the Week awards.

Patriot League Male Runner of the Week
Tim Richard, Holy Cross Jr., Attleboro, Mass.
Richard was the top finisher for the Crusaders at the New England Championship in Boston last Saturday, finishing with a time of 25:46 in the men's five-mile. The junior finished in 58th place of 315 runners in a meet that included teams from Boston College, Boston University, UMass-Amherst and Brown. Richard helped lead the Crusaders to a team finish of 16th out of 47 teams.
Patriot League Female Runner/Rookie of the Week
Paige Sutherland, Holy Cross Fr., Groveland, Mass.
Sutherland turned in her second-fastest time of the season, 18:41 in the women's 5k at the New England Championship. Sutherland was the top finisher for Holy Cross, placing 38th of 298 runners in the individual race. The freshman helped lead the Crusaders to a 12th-place finish of 45 teams.
Patriot League Male Rookie of the Week
Dan Altenau, Holy Cross Fr., Eastchester, N.Y.
Altenau ran his second-fastest time of the season at the New England Championship, turning in a time of 26:44 in the men's five-mile. Altenau's time was good for 146th place of 315 runners. The freshman helped lead Holy Cross to a team finish of 16th of 47 teams.

Eight Patriot League Squads Ranked in USTFCCCA Polls
Three Patriot League women's teams and five Patriot League men's teams are ranked in various USTFCCCA polls, the organization announced Monday. On the women's side, Navy is ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic region, followed by Bucknell in the seventh spot. Lehigh rounds out the poll with an 11th-place selection. For the men, the Mids are ranked ninth in the Mid-Atlantic region, followed by Lehigh (10), American (11) and Bucknell (14). Army is ranked 12th in the Northeast regional poll.

American will split its squad and compete in both the Delaware and Leopard Invitationals, while Army and Navy will face off in Annapolis. Bucknell and Lehigh will head to New Jersey to compete in the Princeton Invitational, while Lafayette will host and compete in the Leopard Invitational.
2008 Patriot League Championship
The 2008 Patriot League Cross Country Championships will take place on Nov. 1 at Lehigh University. The top-14 finishers in both the men and women's race will be awarded All-Patriot League status, with the top-seven being named to the First-Team and the next seven earning Second-Team recognition.

American The Eagles had no scheduled events last week. American will split squads and compete in both the Delaware and Leopard Invitationals on Saturday.
Army Army had no scheduled events last week. The Black Knights will travel to Annapolis for a dual meet with archrival Navy on Saturday.
Bucknell The Bison had no scheduled events last week. Bucknell will next compete in the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.
Colgate The Raiders had no scheduled events last week. Colgate will next compete at the Albany Invitational on Saturday.
Holy Cross competed in the New England Championship last weekend, with the men finishing 16th of 47 teams and the women finishing 12th of 45 teams. The Crusaders will next compete on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Patriot League Championship.
Lafayette The Leopards had no scheduled events last week. Lafayette will host the Leopard Invitational on Saturday in Easton.
Lehigh had no scheduled events last week. The Mountain Hawks will next compete at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.
Navy The Mids had no scheduled events last week. Navy will host archrival Army in a dual meet on Saturday.
