Navy senior John Olsen earned his second consecutive male runner of the week award, while Colgate newcomer Ed Sheridan has been named rookie of the week. The Lehigh women ran away with both awards following their victory over Lafayette. Junior Shannon Alejandro was named runner of the week, and freshman Alexis Wiener won her second rookie of the week award in three weeks.

M-F Athletic Male Runner of the Week
John Olsen, Navy Sr., Staten Island, N.Y.
Olsen collects his second consecutive runner of the week honors, following an impressive performance at the Navy Invitational. Olsen finished third in a field of 98 runners in the 8k race, posting a time of 24:01.2. The individual finish helped pace Navy to a second place team finish, trailing only No. 15 Louisville.
M-F Athletic Female Runner of the Week
Shannon Alejandro, Lehigh Jr., Springfield, Ohio
Alejandro finished first overall in the women's race at the Lehigh/Lafayette dual meet this past weekend. The junior finished with a time of 21:14.0 in the 6k race, and helped Lehigh beat their Patriot League rivals in team scoring.
M-F Athletic Male Rookie of the Week
Ed Sheridan, Colgate Fr., Phillipsburg, N.J.
Sheridan was the top rookie finisher for the Raiders this past weekend at the UMass Team Meet. He finished with a time of 25:56 in the 8k race, placing him in the top 20 in the field of 56 runners.
M-F Athletic Female Rookie of the Week
Alexis Wiener, Lehigh Fr., Caldwell, N.J.
Wiener led the Mountain Hawks to a win over arch-rival Lafayette, finishing second individually with a time of 21:46 in the 6k race. This is the second time in three weeks that Wiener has been honored with this award.
Honorable Mention
Dan McClimon, Lehigh Fr., Pottstown, Pa.
Led a group of nine Mountain Hawks that finished in the top 10 in the dual meet between Lehigh and Lafayette. Finished with a time of 27:13 in the 8k race.
Patriot League Notebook
Traveling Together
American and Army will take both their men's and women's teams, and Navy will send the men's team to the Bronx, N.Y. this Saturday for the Iona College Meet of Champions. This will mark the second consecutive weekend that Navy and American will compete in the same event.
A Light Schedule
The upcoming weekend will be lighter on the schedule than the first few weeks of the regular season. Holy Cross, Lafayette and Lehigh will all take a break this weekend, and will return to action in two weeks.
Across the Border
The Bucknell Bison will switch things up a bit this Saturday, when they send runners to compete in the Western Ontario International Invitational. The event will take place in our neighbor to the North, in the province of Ontario.
On the Horizon
The Patriot League Cross Country Championships will be Saturday Oct. 27 at Lafayette's Metzger Fields at 11 a.m.
Team Notebooks
American
The Eagles took part in the Navy Invitational this past weekend, finishing fourth overall in the men's race, and fifth overall in the women's race. The men were paced by Steve Hallinan, who placed fourth individually, with the 12th fastest time in course history.
Army
The Black Knights had the weekend off, and will return to action this Saturday, when they travel down the road to the Bronx to participtate in the Iona College Meet of Champions.
Bucknell
The Bison didn't run in an event during the previous week, but will have a busy schedule on Saturday when they send runners to both the Juniata Invitaional and the Western Ontario International Invitational in London, Ontario.
Colgate
The Colgate women did not run this past weekend, but the men traveled to Amherst, Mass. for the UMass Team Meet. They finished fourth of five teams, and were led by Lyle Tolli, who placed third individually.
Holy Cross
It was a busy weekend for the Crusaders, as they sent runners to both the Jim Sheehan Classic and the National Catholic Championship in Notre Dame, Ind. Both the men and women finished first at the Sheehan Classic, while the men placed sixth and the women placed eighth out in the Midwest.
Lafayette
The Leopards hosted local rival Lehigh in a dual meet this past weekend, finishing second in both the men's and women's race. The men were led by newcomer Ryan Stasiowski who placed fifth, while the women had four runners in the top 10, highlighted by Rose Kennedy's third place.
Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks completed a sweep of Lafayette in their annual dual meet, marking the third straight year the feat has been accomplished. Shannon Alejandro finished first individually for the women, while the men had nine of the top 10 finishers, the highest being freshman Dan McClimon.
Navy
The Midshipmen hosted the Navy Invitational this past weekend on the men's side, while the women competed in the Salty Seadog Invitational. The men placed second behind 15th ranked Louisville, thanks to a third place finish by John Olsen. The women finished third of nine teams and were paced by Arwyn Becker.
