Trio Claims Patriot League Runner of the Week Accolades

Center Valley, Pa. -- Colgate's Louis DiNuzzo (Loundonville, N.Y./Shaker), Lehigh's Rob Hampson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock) and Lafayette's Rian Landers (Spring Lake, N.J./St. Rose) were tabbed the Patriot League Cross Country Runners of the Week for the week ending September 8.

DiNuzzo shares the men's award with Hampson after crossing the finish line first at the Harry Lang Invitational in Hamilton, N.Y. DiNuzzo's run guided the Raiders to a first-place finish in their first meet of the season. The senior completed the 7,800-meter course with a time of 27:01.8, to lead CU to a sweep of the first two spots. In addition to Colgate, The Harry Lang Invitational featured Binghamton, Niagara, LeMoyne and Oswego.

Hampson stood atop the podium in his first collegiate race to lead the Mountain Hawks to a first-place team finish at the Lehigh Valley Championship with 29 points. The freshman broke the tape with a 26:01.8 mark, 1.2 seconds ahead of teammate Mark Swanson. Also competing in the meet were Lafayette, Kutztown, Moravian, East Stroudsburg, Muhlenburg and DeSales.

Landers captures the Women's Runner of the Week award after winning her second-straight meet. The senior crossed the finish line of the 5K course with a time of 22:22.80, besting the time of the second-place finisher by 17 seconds. Landers led the Leopards to the women's team title at the Lehigh Valley Championship with her gold medal performance, lifting LC over the likes of Lehigh, Kutztown, Moravian, East Stroudsburg, Muhlenburg and DeSales. In her first meet of the year, the Army Invitational Aug. 30, Landers won the 4K event with a 15:06 mark.
