The Bison had the most representatives in the League, followed by Navy (12), Lehigh (11) and Army (10).
The honorees included six of the seven student-athletes who made the Women Cross Country Academic All-Patriot League Team in the fall, and also six of the seven runners who earned first-team All-Patriot League honors. Navy's Brigid Byrne, the 2012 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Annie-Norah Beveridge, the 2012 Patriot League Runner of the Year, were Academic Honor Roll recipients after being named to both the Academic All-Patriot League Team and first-team All-Patriot League squad. Army's Lisa Junta and Bucknell's Caroline Tolli received the same distinction.
Junta and Tolli were also two of 16 student-athletes to achieve a 4.00 grade-point average or higher in the fall semester. Junta, a sophomore Life Science major at West Point, had the highest GPA in the League at 4.21. Tolli, a senior Education/Spanish major, was one of six Bison to achieve at 4.00 GPA in the fall. She was joined by teammates Nora Adams (Undeclared), Alison Dillon (Mechanical Engineering), Deanna Godby (Mechanical Engineering), Kate VanNess (Physics) and Emily Waksmunski (Civil Engineering). Emily Buck (Environmental Science) and Alexandra Sutherland (Systems Engineering) joined Junta with 4.00 (rounded) fall GPAs at West Point. Navy had five student-athletes achieve a 4.00 GPA in the fall as Shannon Cuthbert (Political Science), Margo Darragh (Undeclared), Emily Jensen (Mechanical Engineering), Michelle Nelson (Undeclared) and Kathryn Quandt (Undeclared) all hit the mark, while Lehigh's Jennifer Markham (Engineering) and Carlie Skellington (IDEAS) rounded out the student-athletes with a 4.00 or higher fall GPA.
Byrne was one of three student-athletes to make the Patriot League Women's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll for a fourth time. Bucknell's Sara Lederman and Colgate's Ellen Callahan also pulled off the feat.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
