Patriot League Women's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll Get Acrobat Reader

 

Center Valley, Pa. - American's Greta Wicklund, the 2009 Patriot League Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 102 women's cross country student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

 

Wicklund, a senior international relations major, earned a 3.93 grade-point average for the fall term.  She was named to the 2009 All-Patriot League First-Team after finishing seventh at the League Championships with a time of 23:16.7. Wicklund was one of 11 Eagles named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

 

Wicklund's teammate Mary Jane Egan was one of six Patriot League women's cross country student-athletes to achieve a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average in the fall. Also earning a 4.0 were Bucknell's Kelly DeSharnais, Allison Janda, Gabrielle Skovira and Caroline Tolli, and Navy's Brigid Byrne.

 

Bucknell led all teams with 22 student-athletes named to the honor roll. The Bison were followed by Lehigh (15), Lafayette and Navy (13), American and Holy Cross (11), Colgate (10) and Army (7).

 

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
