EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette Cross Country qualified 12 runners for the Patriot League's Fall Academic Honor Roll, announced on Tuesday. More student-athletes were named to this year's honor roll than in the previous three years.

Senior Kevin Cunningham (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) topped the Leopards' delegation with a 4.00 grade point average. Cunningham, a Biology major, is one of three Leopards to qualify for the honor roll multiple times in his career. Senior Frances Morro (Stockholm, N.J./Pope John XXIII) makes her third appearance on the academic honor roll, while sophomore Christine Wittich (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) qualifies for the second time.

There are nine newcomers to the academic honor roll for the Leopards. Freshman Margaret Bruno-Metzger (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) is an honor roll selection and was named the Patriot League's Female Rookie of the Week for her second-place finish at the Lehigh Valley Championships on Sept. 7.

Sophomore Rose Kennedy (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) finished first among Lafayette women in four of five meets this season. She ran the 6k course at Metzgar in 21:52 at the Lafayette vs. Lehigh dual, placing third and finishing seventh in the top-10 times on the course.

On the men's side, freshman Ryan Stasiowski (Hanover, Md./Loyola Blakefield) finished first among Lafayette men in the first three meets of the year and second in the final two. He had top-five finishes at the Lehigh Valley Championships and the Lafayette vs. Lehigh dual meet.

 

 

Seniors Aaron Buchman (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) and Pete Reynolds (Ewing, N.J./Ewing), junior Mike Atamanchuk (Martinsville, N.J./Raritan), and freshmen Stephen Comanto (Wyckoff, N.J./Don Bosco Prep), Tracey Kelly (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's), and Colin McCullough (Wood Ridge, N.J./Don Bosco Prep) round out the list.

To be eligible for the academic honor roll a student must earn at least a 3.2 GPA in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter. Varsity letter requirements vary by institution.
