Center Valley, Pa. - Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh each received academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently, as all three schools were named Division I All-Academic Track and Field Teams on both the men's and women's lists.
The Lafayette men recorded the seventh-highest cumulative team grade-point average in the country as they finished with a 3.26 in the spring semester. Bucknell made the list with a 3.13 GPA, while Lehigh came in with a 3.045.
Bucknell had the highest GPA among the three Patriot League schools on the women's side, as the Bison recorded a 3.31. Lafayette made the list with a 3.27, and Lehigh garnered a 3.25 team GPA.
A total of 67 programs were recognized as men's 2009 All-Academic Teams, while 131 were selected on the women's side. To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average.
