Center Valley, Pa. - Navy senior Cody Rome, the 2012 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in men's indoor track and field, and Army senior Thomas Wagner, the Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the outdoor season, highlight a list of 184 student-athletes named to the 2012 Patriot League Men's Track and Field Academic Honor Roll.

Wagner, who majored in physics, earned a 3.612 grade-point average during the spring term, while Rome, an applied mathematics major, posted a 3.88 GPA.

Of the 184 student-athletes on the Honor Roll, 18 of them scored a 4.00 GPA or higher this spring.

Navy led the way with six student-athletes earning a 4.00 GPA or better. Sophomore Brett Bogaard (quantitative economics), freshman Tom Buffone (physics), sophomore Jeremy Cadiente (physics), freshman Jacob Fox (chemistry), junior Christopher Galvin (mechanical engineering) and junior Jordan Gruber (mechanical engineering) all logged a perfect 4.0 in the spring. Army sophomore Ian MacPherson (4.20; economics), sophomore Mark Van Benschoten (4.228; economics), and sophomore Kendall Ward (4.011; economics) eclipsed the 4.00 threshold. American's Greg Lush (law and society), Bucknell's Dan Dillon (interdisciplinary studies), Jordan Donaldson (accounting), Daniel Markwalter (biomedical engineering) and John Skovira (civil engineering), Colgate's Timothy Metivier (classics) and Lafayette's Nick Carboni (computer science), Michael Thompson (civil engineering) and Andrew Warshauer (chemical engineering) all earned a 4.00 GPA during the spring term. Nine members of the Academic All-Patriot League team also received honor roll recognition.

Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 32 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Navy was a close second adding 31, while Army tallied 29 student-athletes for Honor Roll selection. Lafayette followed with 23 selections, and Holy Cross pitched in 21.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
