Bucknell Track & Field Announces Incoming Class of 2015

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Head coach Kevin Donner announced Bucknell track and field's latest recruiting class on Wednesday. The Bison men's team welcomes 17 student-athletes for the 2010-11 campaign, while the women's squad adds 30 newcomers. The newest group of Bison joins a squad that recently captured both the men's and women's titles at the Patriot League Championships for the second consecutive spring. "I am very pleased with our overall recruiting class," said Donner. "We were able to strengthen a few areas that were hit by graduation and we enhanced a few areas to protect our future. In track and field and cross country, you cannot evaluate a recruiting class until the second or third year. However, we do have a number of athletes who can make an immediate impact within our program." Bucknell track and field claimed the both the men's and women's team trophies at the 2011 Patriot League Outdoor Championships in early May. Robert Arent (New Providence, N.J./New Providence) was named the Track Athlete of the Meet for the second straight year, while Donner was named the Coach of the Year on the men's and women's sides. The season is not quite over for the Bison, however. Javelin throwers Ted Heitzman (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) and Laura Rycek (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, June 8-9.
