CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Several individual champions from the 2012 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships were in action over the weekend, earning All-East honors at the IC4A and ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J.

All three major Patriot League award winners on the men’s side posted All-East performances. Army’s Tom Wagner, who was the Male Field Athlete of the Meet at the Patriot League Championship, was fifth in the high jump with a height of 6-9½. Lafayette’s Jerome Rudolph (Track Athlete of the Meet) placed sixth in the 100 (10.64 seconds) and seventh in the 200 (21.64). Navy freshman Mark Vetere (Rookie of the Meet), already a two-time Patriot League pole vault champion, placed seventh in the pole vault at the IC4A meet to earn All-East honors with a personal record height of 16-8, which he cleared on his third and final attempt.

Navy’s Cody Rome posted the top performance on the men’s side, finishing second in the 1,500 (3:45.56). Colgate’s Chris Johnson, who won a pair of individual titles at the Patriot League Championship, was fourth in the event (3:47.74).

The Patriot League Track Athlete of the Meet on the women’s side, Navy senior Jess Palacio, broke her own school record in the 800, placing fourth (2:05.22). Palacio has now earned ECAC All-East honors at the last three ECAC Outdoor Championship meets. According to the pre-weekend rankings, Palacio's 800 time is the 13th best in the NCAA East Region. Palacio is also ranked 36th in the 1,500 and will likely be able to qualify for the NCAA's East Regional Championship in either event.
