Center Valley, Pa.- Seven of the Patriot League teams will see other League competition at various meets this weekend. This Friday and Saturday, Bucknell will host the Bucknell Outdoor Classic, with American, Colgate, Lafayette and Lehigh scheduled to compete. On Saturday, Army and Navy will square off in the annual Star Meet in Annapolis. Holy Cross will participate in the Northeastern Invite, while American will also compete at the Onesty/Abramson Invite at the University of Virginia. Student-athletes from Army, Holy Cross, Navy, Lafayette and Lehigh all earned Patriot League Athlete of the Week honors.

M-F Athletic Male Track Performer of the Week

Domonick Sylve, Army So., Long Beach, Calif.

Sylve placed third at the highly competitive Auburn Track Classic in the 100m hurdles witha time of 14.31. The sophomore's time was just .01 shy of the NCAA Regional standard, but did qualify him for the IC4A Championships in the event. This is Sylve's second weekly honor this season.

M-F Athletic Female Track Performer of the Week

Tiffany Reid, Holy Cross Jr., Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Reid earned a pair of first-place finishes in the 100m and 200m dashes at the Wildcat Invitational in Durham, N.H. The junior close to the NCAA Regional qualifying mark with her time of 12.27 in the 100m and 25.37 in the 200m. This is Reid's first Patriot League honor this season

M-F Athletic Male Field Performer of the Week

Mark Van Orden, Navy Jr., Morris Plains, N.J.

Van Orden continued his torrid spring campaign at the Florida Relays last week, uncorking a hammer throw of 60.36m (198' 0"). The junior's toss earned him runner-up honors at the event, and was the fourth time in as many weeks that he has surpassed both the NCAA Regional and IC4A qualifying marks.

M-F Athletic Female Field Performer of the Week

Jessica Buzzell, Lafayette Sr., Milton, N.H.

Buzzell posted League-best performances in the long jump and triple jump at the Lafayette-Lehigh dual meet, with a high jump of 1.53m (5' 0 1/2") and long jump of 5.61m (18' 5"). This is the first League award for Buzzell this season.

M-F Athletic Male Rookie of the Week

Tom Wagner, Army Fr., Clinton, N.Y.

Wagner set a collegiate-best triple jump mark of 14.37m (47' 1 3/4"), close to the NCAA Regional qualifying standard. The freshman also placed eighth in the high jump at the Auburn Track Classic with a leap of 2.02m (6' 7 1/2"), which was nearly an NCAA Regional qualifying mark.

M-F Athletic Female Rookie of the Week

Katherine Pierce, Lehigh Fr., Alfred, Maine

Pierce won the 5,000m run by 47.6 seconds over her closest competitor with a time of 17:55.49 at the Lafayette-Lehigh duel. The freshman's win helped the Mountain Hawks defeat the Leopards, 108-95.

2009 Patriot League Championships

The 2009 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at Army's Shea Stadium in West Point, N.Y., Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, 2009. Team Notebooks

American The Eagles competed at the team unscored Texas Relays and Duke Invite last week. American will split its squads this weekend and compete at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic and the Onesty/Abramson Invite in Charlottesville, Va.

Army At the Auburn Track Classic, the men's team had five top-five finishes, while women's team captain Lauryn Wierda earned a Black Knight top-10 mark in the 400m hurdles. At the Penn Invite, both teams combined for seven top-10 finishes. This weekend, Army will head to Annapolis to take on Navy in the annual Star Meet.

Bucknell Sophomore Drew Fitzgerald qualified for IC4As in the high jump at the Colonial Relays with a leap of 2.04m (6' 8 1/4"). The Bison men finished third of 25 teams, while the women finished fifth of 25 teams at the meet. Bucknell will host several League schools at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Friday and Saturday.

Colgate The Raiders competed at the team unscored Sam Howell Invite last weekend, while the Colgate men also competed at an unscored event at Hamilton College. Both Colgate teams will compete at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic this weekend.

Holy Cross Senior Andrew Maggio was in the 94th-percentile of the NCAA Regional marks in the 100m and 200m dashes for the Crusaders at the team unscored Wildcat Invitational. Both Holy Cross teams will compete at the Northeastern Invite on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Lafayette Freshman Alana Taylor earned a second-place finish in the javelin at the Lafayette-Lehigh dual meet with a throw of 37.51m (123' 0 1/2").The Leopard men's team fell, 115-88, to the Mountain Hawks, while the women's team lost, 108-95. Lafayette will head to Lewisburg this weekend for the Bucknell Outdoor Classic.

Lehigh Lehigh completed a sweep of archrival Lafayette in last weekend's Lafayette-Lehigh duel. Senior Scott Robinson was named Athlete of the Meet for his performance, while sophomore Latasha Watson helped lead the women's team to victory with two individual first-place finishes of her own. The Mountain Hawks will next compete at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic this weekend.

Navy The Navy men's team competed at the team unscored Florida Relays last weekend, while the women's team earned a 13th-place finish of 25 teams at the Colonial Relays. The Mids will host Army in the annual outdoor Star Meet on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
