Bucknell, which has swept the last three men’s and women’s outdoor championships, is coming off a sweep of the indoor championships. The Bison men and women both received 94 points and 10 first-place votes in their respective preseason polls.
Navy placed second on the men’s side with 89 points and six first-place votes, while Army was voted third with 75 points. Lehigh followed in fourth with 61 points and Lafayette was voted fifth with 51. Colgate (30), American (27) and Holy Cross (21) round out the poll.
Navy also placed second in the women’s poll with 89 points and six first-place votes. Lehigh followed in third with 73 points, and Army and Holy Cross tied for fourth with 48 points. Colgate trailed close behind in sixth with 48 and Lafayette garnered 40 points to place seventh. American was last with 14 points.
Bucknell has swept the last two Outdoor Track and Field Championships, winning in 2010 and 2011. Last year, the men took the top spot for the third time in school history with 186 points. Army was second and Navy was third. The Bucknell women won their 12th title last season, with Navy finishing second and Lehigh third.
