A trio of Bucknell student-athletes were honored by the Patriot League during the first weekend of outdoor track and field competition.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE TRACK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
PAUL HARRIS, NAVY Jr., Woodbury, Minn.
Harris posted an IC4A qualifying mark in the 800 meters in winning the
event with a time of 1:51.944. His time was nearly nine seconds ahead
of the runner-up. This is the second career outdoor athlete of the week
honor for Harris, who also has captured the Patriot League weekly
award on four occasions during his indoor career.

CATHERINE TRENTACOSTE, BUCKNELL Sr., Garden City, N.J.
Trentacoste captured her first Patriot League weekly award after finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.44) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.03) at the Shamrock Invitational in Conway, S.C.
M-F ATHLETIC MALE FIELD PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
RUDY MEJIA, ARMY Sr., El Paso, Texas
Mejia captured the long jump competition at the Hurricane Invitational with a mark of 7.32 meters, which narrowly missed a NCAA Regional qualifying mark. His jump was an IC4A-qualifying mark. He is the reigning Patriot League champion in both the long jump and triple jump.
M-F ATHLETIC FEMALE FIELD PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
NINA REINHARDT, BUCKNELL Sr., Northport, N.Y.
Reinhardt won the heptathlon competition at the Shamrock Invitational with an ECAC qualifying mark of 4,581 points. This is the first career weekly ward win for Reinhardt, who finished second at last year's Patriot League Championship.

STEVEN PIERCE, BUCKNELL Fr., Ridgewood, N.J.
Pierce finished in third place in the javelin competition at the Shamrock Invitational with a mark of 57.35 meters (188 feet, 2 inches). His throw ranks 10th best in school history.
M-F ATHLETIC FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ANGELA JENKINS, ARMY Fr., Staunton, Va.
Jenkins qualified for the ECAC Championships in the triple jump with a
mark of 11.78 meters (38' 7¾") at the Hurricane Invitational at Miami,
Fla. She also posted a mark of 15.67 (18' 7¼") in the long jump.

Perkins finished seventh in the 400m at the Hurricane Invitational.
JOSHUA KAEHLER, BUCKNELL
Sr., Hanover, Pa.
Kaehler turned in ECAC-qualifying mark in the javelin throw (60.90m).
AMY MANTUSH, BUCKNELL
Fr., Drums, Pa.
Mantush posted a third-place finish in the heptathlon with a score of 4,091.
ALEX WECHSLER, LAFAYETTE
Jr., Paramus, N.J.
Wechsler finished second in the steeplechase at the Shamrock Invitational (9:29.98).
SEAN MCAULEY, LAFAYETTE
So., Staten Island, N.Y.
Qualified for the IC4As with a throw of 47.28m (155-1) in the discus at the Shamrock Invitational.
LORI COOPER, LAFAYETTE
Sr. Brackney, Pa.
Cooper placed second in javelin throw at the Shamrock Invitational (42.98m/141'0").
ALLISON TETHER, LAFAYETTE
Fr., King of Prussia, Pa.
Placed sixth in the javelin throw at the Shamrock Invitational (39.00m/127'11").
DARRYL HUNTER, NAVY
Jr., Des Moines, Iowa
Won both the shot put and discus events at the Point Loma Invitational with IC4A qualifying marks.
MATT HANLEY, NAVY
Fr., Arlington, Texas
Hanley won the 110-meter hurdles and was a member of the victorious 4x100m relay at the Point Loma Invitational.
PATRIOT LEAGUE NOTEBOOK
2007 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2007 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships are slated for May 4-5 at Lehigh University. Army is the 15-time reigning men's team champion, while Bucknell will look to capture its fourth consecutive women's team title in Bethlehem, Pa. later this spring.
ALL-AMERICAN SALUTE
Navy men's track and field junior middle distance runner Paul Harris claimed all-America accolades in the 800 meters with his sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championship on Saturday evening at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Harris becomes Navy's first All-America in the 800 meters and the first Patriot League all-
America performer in the sport of indoor track and field since Erik Schmidt of Navy placed fifth to earn honors in the mile run at the 2004 NCAA Championship. Overall, Harris is the 15th male indoor track and field student-athlete in Patriot league history to earn all-America recognition, and is the first middle distance runner to be honored.
BUCKNELL, ARMY PICKED AS FAVORITES IN PRE-SEASON POLLS
Three-time defending champion Bucknell was picked to win the 2007 Patriot League Championship by the Patriot League head coaches and sports information directors in the women's outdoor track and field preseason poll. Overall, the Bison have captured half of the 16 previous Patriot League titles.
Bucknell tallied 98 points with 14 of the 16 first-place votes. Navy grabbed two first-place votes and a total of 85 points. Army and Lafayette were picked to finish third in the preseason poll, and each team accumulated 68 points. Lehigh (44), Holy Cross (35), Colgate
(31) and American (19) round out the poll.
Meanwhile, Army, the reigning Patriot League men's outdoor track and field champion, was selected to repeat by Patriot League head coaches and sports information directors in the Men's Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Poll.
Army received 13 first-place votes and had a total of 97 points. Navy came in second with three first-place votes and 87 total points. Bucknell received 70 points in the pre-season poll to finish third. Meanwhile, American received 58 votes and is fourth in the pre-season poll. Lafayette finished fifth in the voting with 45 points, while Lehigh tallied 45 points to earn sixth place. Colgate (26) and Holy Cross (14) round out the poll.
