IC4A Championships Results

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Bucknell senior thrower Tom Barr led the Patriot League at the 2012 IC4A and ECAC Championships at Reggie Lewis Track in Boston on Saturday and Sunday, winning the individual title in the weight throw.

Barr was Bucknell’s first IC4A Champion since 2007, recording a career-best winning toss of 64-2½ in the weight throw. Teammate Leonard Joseph was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 61-9 ½.

The Bison weren’t the only squad to find success at the championship meet, as the Navy men’s distance medley relay team of Ken Bunnell, Matt Evers, Lucas Connelly and Dominic Della Pelle placed second on Sunday with a season-best time of 9:51.10.

On the women’s side, Navy senior Amanda Phelps, the League indoor champion in the weight throw, placed fourth in the event Sunday (58-3¾).

Army and Holy Cross also earned a pair of second-place finishes as the Black Knights’ Taylor Kensy was the runner-up in the men’s 500 (1:02.46) and the Crusaders’ quartet of Kathleen Brekka, Brittany Gorski, Sarah Meinelt and Katelyn Hartnett placed second in the 3,200 relay (8:59.44).
