Results, Day One
West Point, N.Y. – Bucknell senior Amy Mantush won the first individual title of the 2010 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships at Army’s Gillis Field House on Friday, winning the women’s pentathlong with 3,449 points. Navy’s Brian Zitterkopf leads the men’s heptathlon heading into Saturday’s competition with 2,737 points through four events.
Mantush won the high jump (1.68m) and the long jump (5.40m). She finished second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.38), third in the shot put (10.55m) and ninth in the 800-meter run (2:42.01).
Mantush earns First-Team All-Patriot League honors for winning the event. Navy sophomore Arian Davis is a Second-Team All-Patriot League selection as the event’s runner-up.
After one event, the Bucknell women lead the standings with 10 points. Lehigh and Navy are tied for second with eight points apiece. Holy Cross has four points, while Army has one.
On the men’s side, Zitterkopf leads the men’s heptathlon after scoring three top-five finishes in four events on Friday. He finished in a three-way tie for first in the high jump (2.02m). Zitterkopf placed fourth in the shot put (11.30), fifth in the long jump (6.38) and ninth in the 60-meter dash (7.60).
The 2010 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships will resume Saturday at 8:45 a.m. beginning with the remaining events in the men’s heptathlon.
