EASTON, Pa. - The Patriot League honored Kyle Clayton on Tuesday for his success at the Lafayette-Lehigh Dual on Jan. 30, naming him the Track Performer of the Week. This is the first weekly nod for Lafayette this year.
An Engineering major, Clayton won all three individual events in which he competed at the annual meet. Clayton won the 60m dash (6.87), the 200m dash (22.40) and the long jump (24' 4 ½").
Clayton's time for the 60m dash ties his personal best while this time for the 200m is the best time in the league this season. He set a new all-time best in the long jump by more than one foot and qualified for the IC4A Championships. His jump is now second all-time in school history.
Clayton is currently enrolled in Principles of Programming Language, Operating Systems, English Language and working on a Senior Project.
He was named Lafayette's Outstanding Men's Performer of the Meet by the Emrey Track and Field Association at the weekend's meet on Jan. 30.
The Leopards travel to the Armory in New York for the New Balance Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
