Navy sophomore runner Craig Meekins (Baldwin, N.Y./Chaminade), Army junior sprinter Meghan Venable-Thomas (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus), Lafayette junior thrower Tyler Jones (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) and Bucknell junior thrower Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) were honored as the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan 1-8.

Meekins was named Male Track Athlete of the Week for winning one individual event and helping a relay team win another in Navy's meet against Princeton. He won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57.65. He then went on to help the 4x800-meter relay to a win (7:54.77).

Venable-Thomas was selected as the Female Track Athlete of the Week for winning the 200-meter sprint and finishing fourth in the 60-meter sprint at the Carlton Crowell Invitational. She won the 200-meter with a time of 26.00 seconds defeating her nearest competitor by four tenths of a second. She also finished fourth in the 60-meter sprint (7.99).

In field events Jones was selected Male Field Athlete of the Week for winning the shot put and finishing third in the 35 lb. weight throw at the Carlton Crowell Invitational. He hurled the shot put 51 feet 5.5 inches to win the event and also qualified for the Eastern IC4A Championships. He also throw the 35 lb. weight 53 feet 1.75 inches.

Grap won two events at the Gulden Relay's to be named Female Field Athlete of the Week. During the event she was named the female Field Events Athlete of the Meet. She won the weight throw with a heave of 57 feet 10.5 inches. She also won the shot put (42 feet 5.25 inches).
