WASHINGTON - American University senior Carlos Jamieson placed 11th in the 1500 meter run on Saturday at the NCAA East Regionals in Greensboro, N.C.

Jamieson completed the race in 3:50.14 after advancing to the finals heat on Friday with a time of 3:43.95. Jamieson's 11th place finish failed to qualify him for the NCAA Championships.

Jamieson was joined at the NCAA East Regional by freshman Octavia Rinehardt. While Jamieson advanced to the 1500 meter finals with the ninth fastest preliminary heat time on Friday, Rinehardt placed 34th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:44.44 in her first appearance at the meet.
