JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Army track freshman Lisa Junta placed 33rd of 48 in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday evening in the national semifinal at North Florida’s Hodges Stadium. Junta was the lone Black Knight competing on Day 1 of the NCAA East Regional.

Junta, one of just five freshmen in the field of 48, finished in 36:50.56. To qualify for the NCAA Championship, the Springfield, Va., native needed to finish in the top 12. The reigning Patriot League and ECAC 10,000-meter champion will now look ahead to the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for June 15-17 at Indiana University.

Junior Nick Snoad will continue Army’s stay at the NCAA East Regional tomorrow morning. Snoad, who qualified in the hammer throw, is scheduled to compete at 10 a.m. For full results, click here.
