Fall Composite Schedule
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — There’s a little more than seven months to go before the next set of Patriot League championships in men and women’s tennis, and the march towards the trophies begins for several League teams this weekend.
2013-14 marks the beginning of a new era for the Patriot League in most sports, tennis included. League newcomers Boston University and Loyola Maryland both field men’s and women’s teams, and each will aim for a shot at capturing a League crown in the spring.
This weekend will provide an opportunity for several League programs to get acquainted with one another from the very beginning. Bucknell is set to host men’s and women’s players at the Bucknell Quad for three days beginning Friday. League members Colgate and Loyola are set to participate. Meanwhile in Annapolis, Md., Navy will open its fall campaign by hosting its own invitational also for three days starting on Friday.
In addition this weekend, the Holy Cross men are scheduled to travel to Easton, Mass., for the Stonehill Doubles Invitational. Meanwhile the Crusader women hold the distinction of hosting the first dual of the fall when they entertain Bryant Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Many programs not opening their fall slates this weekend will do so the following week.
