Lewisburg, Pa. - No. 3 Lehigh and No. 5 Colgate both advanced to the semifinals of the Patriot League Women's Tennis Tournament after winning their quarterfinal matches on Friday at Bucknell's Varsity Tennis Courts. No. 5 Colgate defeated No. 4 Holy Cross, 4-0, setting up a semifinal match with No. 1 Army on Saturday at 10 a.m. No. 3 Lehigh beat No. 6 Lafayette by an identical 4-0 tally, which pits Lehigh against No. 2 Bucknell on Saturday at 2 p.m. Neither No. 1 Army nor No. 2 Bucknell competed Friday, as both teams earned first-round byes by securing the top two seeds.

The first match of the day saw No. 5 Colgate pick up the doubles point on No. 4 Holy Cross behind wins by the Raiders' No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams. Colgate's No. 1 tandem of Elise DeRose and Cameron Williams defeated Holy Cross' Kristen Miehl and Carolyn Chandley, 8-2, to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. The Raiders' No. 3 team of Alex Erickson and Cameron Thaney gave Colgate the winning point by downing the Crusaders' Kathryn Wilkie and Emma Rudnik, 8-2. In singles play, Colgate's DeRose defeated Holy Cross' Miehl, 6-4, 6-0, in No. 1 singles, while Colgate's No. 4 Williams handed Holy Cross' Hailee Lange a 6-2, 6-2 loss. With Colgate up 3-0, the Raiders' No. 3 Erin Fenn beat Holy Cross' Carolyn Chandley, 6-2, 6-3, giving Colgate the win and allowing the Raiders to advance to Saturday's semifinals.

No. 5 Colgate will face No. 1 Army in Saturday's first semifinal match at 10 a.m. The Raiders and the Black Knights last met in the semifinals of the 2006 Patriot League Tournament, where Army earned a 4-0 victory to advance to the championship match. Army beat Colgate, 7-0, on Mar. 8 in West Point during their regular-season match.

The day's second semifinal saw archrivals No. 3 Lehigh and No. 6 Lafayette face off for the first time this season, as both of their regular-season dual matches were rained out. In doubles play, the Mountain Hawks earned the point with a 2-0 victory. Lehigh's No. 2 team of Julie Arthofer and Liz Piscitelli picked up an 8-0 win over Lafayette's Ansley Scudder Nancy Parker. Stacy Reich and Kira Murasko-Blank secured the point for Lehigh at No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 victory over Lafayette's Sarah Sykes and Emily DeLuca. In singles play, Lehigh's Arthofer beat Lafayette's Sykes, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, while Liz Piscitelli of the Mountain Hawks defeated Rachel Rohinsky of the Leopards, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4. Stacy Reich secured the victory for Lehigh with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Lafayette's Caitlin Gordon.

No. 3 Lehigh will square off with No. 2 Bucknell in the second semifinal match on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Bison and Mountain Hawks last met in the semifinals of the 2006 Patriot League Tournament, where Bucknell picked up a 4-1 win. In their regular-season matchup, the Bison defeated the Mountain Hawks, 4-3, on April 15 at Lehigh.
