The Lafayette men's tennis team recorded two 6-1 victories on Sunday, hosting La Salle and St. Francis (N.Y.) in back-to-back afternoon matches. The Leopards continued there undefeated fall season, winning all five of their matches.
Against La Salle, junior Lee Kojanis competed in the first singles position defeating his opponent, 3-6, 6-5, 10-6 as Lafayette won five of the six singles points over the Explorers. Senior Brett Kraft won his match in the second spot, 6-0, 6-1. Sophomores Matt McGranaghan and Eric Wiley also recorded wins at the third and fourth position, respectively. Freshman Justin Haar won his match at No. 6, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Lafayette took two of the three matches to win the doubles point against La Salle. Freshman Kyle MacLelland paired with McGranaghan at No. 2 to win 8-1 and the duo of sophomore James Murphy and Haar won in third singles, 8-0.
The Leopards' lineups changed against St. Francis (N.Y.) as Lafayette fell in only first singles to earn five of the six singles points. Kraft and Murphy defeated their opponents, 6-0, 6-1 at second and third singles, respectively. At No. 4 and No. 5, Haar and MacLelland won by scores of 6-0, 6-0 over the Terriers. Sophomore Matt Rush, making e his first fall season appearance won his match at No. 6 by forfeit.
This time, Lafayette swept the doubles competition, winning all three matches. With Kraft and Kojanis in first position and sophomore
Chris Chartier-Cotter with Rush in the second, Lafayette won the first 8-5 and the second 8-0. Rush and Wiley won at No. 3 by forfeit.
The men's team continues the fall season in the International Tennis Association Regional at Princeton competing from Thursday through Sunday.
