Paxton, Mass. - Manhattan women's tennis team hosted the College of the Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon in the second dual match of the 2008 season. The Crusaders showed up ready to play and bested Manhattan 5-2 for the win.

The Crusaders took four of the six match ups from Manhattan in a 4-2 lead during singles. In No. 3 singles sophomore Ivette Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) defeated Morgan Machtaggachti of Manhattan 6-4, 6-4. In No. 4 singles sophomore Hailee Lange (Miami, Fla.) won her match up against Nicole Mazza of Manhattan 6-2, 6-1.

Konopka and Lange were paired together in doubles and won their match up against Conklin and Machtaggachti of Manhattan 8-6 to finish the day undefeated.

Holy Cross will travel to Flushing, N.Y., February 17th to face off against St. Francis. Start time is set for 12:00 p.m.
