Patriot League Announces Women's Tennis Academic Honor Roll
Lafayette's Sarah Sykes is one of 35 women's tennis student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Sykes, a senior biochemistry major from West Grove, Pa., earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester and was named the 2009 Patriot League Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Her teammate, Kristie Cavanaugh, is the only other women's tennis player to achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester. Cavanaugh is a Psychology and English double major.

Patriot League Announces Men's Tennis Academic Honor Roll
Navy's Jason Hill, the 2009 Patriot League Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 33 men's tennis student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Hill posted a 3.88 grade-point average for the spring term. His teammate, sophomore Nick Birger, is one of three student-athletes who earned a 4.0 grade-point average or higher for the spring term. Lehigh senior Michael Gordon also earned a 4.0 grade-point average, while Army senior Richard Houghton, a United States history major, posted a League-high 4.26 grade-point average.

Navy Falls to No. 1 Virginia in NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament
Top-ranked Virginia improved its record to 30-0 on the season with a 4-0 victory over the Navy men's tennis team, Friday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Courts in Charlottesville, Va., in a first-round match of the NCAA Tournament. The three-time defending Patriot League-champion Midshipmen end their season with a record of 18-8.

Army Women's Tennis Falls to No. 6 Miami (Fla.) in NCAA Regional
The 2009 season came to an end for the Army women's tennis team, as the Black Knights faltered against No. 6 Miami, 4-0, at the Hurricanes' Neil Schiff Tennis Center in NCAA Regional action on Friday afternoon. Army won the Patriot League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after capturing the program's fifth-straight League title two weeks ago.
