American was the only Patriot League team to compete last week, and made the most of their matchup with Howard with wins by the men's and women's team. The Eagles were rewarded with all four Patriot League weekly awards. Joe Coronato and Dorothy Isaacs won the Swimmer of the Week honors, while Michael O'Brien and Kelsey Monarch received Diver of the Week recognition.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Joe Coronato, American Sr., Toms River, N.J.
Coronato led the Eagles to their first dual-meet victory of the season on Friday when they defeated Howard 108-89. The senior was one of two AU swimmers to win two individual events during the meet. He swam a time of 46:79 to win the 100 Free, and his time of 1:47:26 was good enough for first in the 200 Free.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Dorothy Isaacs, American Fr., San Jose, Calif.
Isaacs continued her scorching start to her career by leading the Eagles to their first dual-meet victory of the season on Friday when they took down Howard 119-80. The newcomer was one of two American swimmers to win two individual events during the course of the meet. She won the 100 Breast in a time of 1:10.54 and also took home a victory in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:14.91.
Male Diver of the Week
Michael O'Brien, American Jr., Liverpool, N.Y.
O'Brien becomes the first American diver to win male diver of the week accolades this season after a strong performance in the team's dual-meet victory over Howard last week. He recorded a victory in the one-meter event with a score of 145.50.
Female Diver of the Week
Kelsey Monarch, American Fr., Downingtown, Pa.
Monarch becomes the first American diver to win female diver of the week honors this season following her impressive performance in the dual-meet win over Howard. She posted a score of 200.55 in the one-meter event to help lead the Eagles to victory for the first time this season.
Patriot League Notebook
A Winter Break
Seven of the eight schools in the Patriot League have finished competing for the 2007 calendar year. The lone exception is American, who will compete on Dec. 29 in Spain. Teams will break from competition for exams, the holidays and the annual winter training trips to warmer locales.
Navy Tops List of Mid-Major Programs
The Navy men's swimming and diving team is currently ranked No. 1 in the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll. The poll currently has 22 members, including the Bucknell men's program which comes in at No. 18. The Bucknell women are also ranked, as they find themselves at No. 19 in the women's poll. The poll has four release dates throughout the course of the season: November 14 (pre-Invite), December 20 (post-invite), February 6 (pre-Conference) and March 6 (post-Conference).
A Few Lanes Away
The 2008 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship meet will take place Thurs. - Sat., Feb. 21-23 at Lejeune Hall on the campus of Navy. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. on each of the three days of competition.
Team Notebooks
American
The Eagles finished out the U.S. portion of their 2007 schedule by earning their first dual-meet victory over cross-town rival Howard last week. The men recorded a 108-89 win while the women posted a 119-80 victory. Joe Coronato and Matt Pelletier each earned two individual victories for the men to lead the Eagles. Senior Meghan Thiel and freshman Dorothy Isaacs each notched two individual victories as well. The Eagles will return to action on Dec. 29 when they travel to Spain to compete in the XV Ciudad de San Sebastien.
Army
The Black Knights did not compete last week, and will return to competition in January when they travel to Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Invite.
Bucknell
The Bison were idle from competition last week, and will not return to action until Jan. 12 when they travel to Colgate for a dual meet.
Colgate
The Raiders have ended the 2007 portion of their schedule, and return to the pool for a dual meet against Bucknell on Jan. 12.
Holy Cross
The Crusaders remained idle from competition last week, and will return to action in 2008, when the women host CCSU and Vermont on January 13.
Lafayette
The Leopards have finished competing in 2007, and will return to the pool on January 16 when they host Binghamton and Stony Brook.
Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks have finished the 2007 portion of their schedule, and return to competition on January 12 when they travel to Marist.
Navy
Navy will be idle from competition until January.
