Center Valley, Pa.- Seven teams will be swimming this weekend, marking another busy stretch for the Patriot League. This weekend's action kicks off on Thursday, when the Navy women head to Maryland to swim in the Terrapin Invitational through Saturday. Friday is the first day of the George Mason Invitational for American, which runs through Sunday. Archrivals Lehigh and Lafayette will square off in Easton at 6 p.m. on Friday as well. Saturday also features Columbia at Army and Bucknell hosting the Bucknell Invitational, which runs through Sunday. Brown and Dartmouth will challenge Navy's men's team in Annapolis at 11 a.m.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Devon Healy, Colgate So., New Canaan, Conn.
Healy had three first-place finishes in the 500 free, 1,650 free and 400 IM to help lead the Raiders to their first victory of the year, beating Dartmouth 143-98. Healy's times of 4:49.59 in the 500 free, 16:42.24 in the 1,650 free and 4:13.21 in the 400 IM were all in the 90th percentile of the NCAA B-standard.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Caren Guyett, Colgate So., Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
Guyett had two individual first-place finishes in the 200 fly and 400 IM in Saturday's defeat of Dartmouth, 159-82. The sophomore also swam on the winning 200 medley relay team, finishing with a time of 1:48.03. Guyett helped the Raiders remain undefeated as they won 11 of 13 events and swept the top three spots in three events.

The Week Ahead

Patriot League Teams Honored by CSCAA
Seven Patriot League squads have earned the distinction of College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American Teams, with two institutions placing in the top-10 combined NCAA Div. I Academic All-American Teams. Lafayette College's men's and women's teams combined for a 3.440 grade-point average, good for third in the nation on the list. Bucknell is ranked seventh in the nation for combined grade-point average at 3.320.
On the women's side, Lafayette was the highest-ranking Patriot League team, with a team grade-point average of 3.510. The Leopards are followed by Bucknell (3.390), American (3.386) and Colgate (3.240). On the men's side, Lafayette is tops for Patriot League again with a 3.370 team grade-point average. Bucknell is next with a 3.250 grade-point average, followed by Colgate's 3.050 grade-point average.
A Few Lanes Away
The 2008 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship meet will take place Thurs. -Sat., Feb. 19-21 at Arthur D. Kinney Jr., Natatorium at Bucknell University. The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. on each of the three days of competition.
Team Notebooks
American American had no scheduled events last week. The Eagles next swim Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22 at the George Mason Invitational.
Army The Black Knights had no scheduled events last week. Army will next swim against Columbia on Nov. 22.
Bucknell The Bison had no scheduled events last week. Bucknell will next swim at the Bucknell Invitational Nov. 22 and 23.
Colgate The Colgate men avenged a 170-124 setback at the hands of Dartmouth last year, beating the Big Green 143-98 on Saturday. On the women's side, Emily Murphy and Bev Walker were also triple winners as the Raiders defeated Dartmouth, 159-82. Colgate next competes Dec. 4 at the Kenyon Invitational.
Holy Cross The Crusaders had no scheduled events last week. Holy Cross will next swim at this weekend's Terrier Invitational in Boston.
Lafayette Lafayette had no scheduled events last week. Lafayette next hosts archrival Lehigh in a Patriot League meet on Nov. 21.
Lehigh Lehigh had no scheduled events last week. The Mountain Hawks will take to the pool against archrival Lafayette on Nov. 21.
Navy The Mids had no scheduled events last week. Navy next swims Nov. 20-22 at the Terrapin Invite (W) and against Brown and Dartmouth (M) on Nov. 22.
