Center Valley, Pa.- After a busy week that saw all eight Patriot League teams in action, only two teams will take to the pool this week. Holy Cross will head to Boston to participate in the Terrier Invitational, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 14-16. Colgate will host Dartmouth on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. Student-athletes from Navy and Army won Patriot League Swimmer and Diver of the Week accolades.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Adam Meyer, Navy Jr., Bethesda, Md.
Meyer had three first-place finishes against American, Bucknell and Lafayette in Lewisburg last weekend, winning the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:47.91, 4.5 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Meyer swam the 400 IM in a time of 3:56.34, winning the event by 13 seconds for the fifth-best time in program history. The junior also swam the third leg of Navy's victorious 200 medley relay as he helped lead Navy to a 3-0 meet sweep.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Tara Chapmon, Navy Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.
Chapmon won a trio of individual events against American, Bucknell and Lafayette this weekend, in addition to swimming the third leg of the 400 free relay. Chapmon swam the 200 back in 2:03.08, finishing 4.6 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher and turning in the second-best time in the event in Navy history. Chapmon's time of 4:56.92 in the 500 free is the eighth-best time in program history. Chapmon improved to 22-0 in individual events this year as she helped lead Navy to a 3-0 meet sweep.
Male Diver of the Week
Olaf Olson, Navy So., Bainbridge Island, Wash.
Olson won the one meter event with a score of 306.90 and the three meter with a score of 339.80 on the way to a 3-0 sweep of American, Bucknell and Lafayette last weekend. Olson won the one meter by 25 points and the three meter by 21 points. The sophomore has placed first or second in all 16 competitions this season.
Female Diver of the Week
Lindsey Adao, Army Jr., New City, N.Y.
Adao picked up three first-place finishes and one runner-up effort in a two-meet week for the Black Knights. The junior qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in winning both boards versus Holy Cross on Wednesday, before two more solid performances, including a first-place finish in the one meter, on Saturday at UConn.

The Week Ahead

Century Club
Navy men's Head Coach Bill Roberts picked up his 100th win as a head coach over the weekend. In his ninth year as a head coach, Roberts has compiled a 102-62 overall record.
Patriot League Teams Honored by CSCAA
Seven Patriot League squads have earned the distinction of College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American Teams, with two institutions placing in the top-10 combined NCAA Div. I Academic All-American Teams. Lafayette College's men's and women's teams combined for a 3.440 grade-point average, good for third in the nation on the list. Bucknell is ranked seventh in the nation for combined grade-point average at 3.320.
On the women's side, Lafayette was the highest-ranking Patriot League team, with a team grade-point average of 3.510. The Leopards are followed by Bucknell (3.390), American (3.386) and Colgate (3.240). On the men's side, Lafayette is tops for Patriot League again with a 3.370 team grade-point average. Bucknell is next with a 3.250 grade-point average, followed by Colgate's 3.050 grade-point average.
A Few Lanes Away
The 2008 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship meet will take place Thurs. -Sat., Feb. 19-21 at Arthur D. Kinney Jr., Natatorium at Bucknell University. The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. on each of the three days of competition.
Team Notebooks
American Both American teams had a rough week in the pool, going 0-3 against Bucknell, Lafayette and Navy in Hamilton on Saturday. The Eagles next swim Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22 at the George Mason Invitational.
Army The Black Knights went 1-1 last week, winning a meet against Holy Cross but falling to the Huskies at UConn on Saturday. Army will next swim against Columbia on Nov. 22.
Bucknell The Bucknell men and women went 2-1 last weekend, defeating American and Lafayette but losing to Navy at a meet in Lewisburg. The Bison will next swim at the Bucknell Invitational Nov. 22 and 23.
Colgate Colgate women set six pool records in blasting Boston University, 190-108. There were 11 times established at the meet that now rank among the top 10 in Colgate's history. The men's team lost the meet, 185-108. The Raiders next swim on Sunday against Dartmouth.
Holy Cross The Crusaders lost last week's meet with Army, with the men losing 162-131 and the women losing 166-134. Holy Cross will try to bounce back with victories at this weekend's Terrier Invitational.
Lafayette The Leopards went 1-2 at last weekend's meet at Bucknell, with both teams defeating American but falling to the Bison and Navy. Lafayette next hosts archrival Lehigh in a Patriot League meet on Nov. 21.
Lehigh Lehigh split their weekend meets, with both teams falling to Rider on Saturday but coming back with wins against NJIT in Bethlehem on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks will take to the pool against archrival Lafayette on Nov. 21.
Navy The Mids swept American, Bucknell and Lafayette last weekend, with the men winning 13 events on the day and the women winning 11. Navy next swims Nov. 20-22 at the Terrapin Invite (W) and against Brown and Dartmouth (M) on Nov. 22.
