Center Valley, Pa.- The upcoming week will feature all eight Patriot League squads in action, including a pair of Patriot League meets, one of which features American, Lafayette and Navy at Bucknell. Student-athletes from Colgate, Holy Cross and Bucknell all won Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Devon Healy, Colgate So., New Canaan, Conn.
Healy had two first-place finishes in the 500 free and 1,650 free and a second-place finish in the 200 IM in Colgate's dual meet 162-136 loss to Patriot League opponent Lehigh. Healy's times were all personal bests, with each time in the 90th percentile of the NCAA B-standard for his events.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Maggie Gousman, Holy Cross Jr., Fanwood, N.J.
Gousman turned in two individual first-place performances, one second-place individual performance and one second-place finish in the 200 yd. medley relay in last week's dual meet with Siena. Gousman's time of 2:16.32 was within 99.6 percent of the NCAA B-standard. Holy Cross lost the meet 170-130.
Male Diver of the Week
Jeff Manning, Bucknell Sr., Bringhurst, Ind.
Manning had two first-place finishes in both the one- meter (236.92 pts.) and three-meter (235.43 pts.) diving events in Bucknell's 158-130 victory over Duquesne.
Female Diver of the Week
Rachael Martinez, Holy Cross Jr., Chelmsford, Mass.
Martinez was a double event winner in Holy Cross' 170-130 loss to Siena. The junior's scores of 209.03 in the one-meter and 215.48 in the three-meter were good enough for first-place in both events.

The Week Ahead
The upcoming week will feature all eight Patriot League squads in action, including a pair of Patriot League meets. Holy Cross kicks off the week with a dual meet at Army on Wednesday, while American, Lafayette and Navy will travel to Bucknell on Saturday for the second of the Patriot League meets this weekend. Army will also host UConn on Saturday afternoon, while Lehigh will travel to Rider for a Saturday morning event. Boston University will travel to Colgate on Saturday, rounding out the day's events. Lehigh takes to the pool again on Sunday morning, where the Mountain Hawks will host NJIT in a dual meet.
Patriot League Teams Honored by CSCAA
Seven Patriot League squads have earned the distinction of College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American Teams, with two institutions placing in the top-10 combined NCAA Div. I Academic All-American Teams. Lafayette College's men's and women's teams combined for a 3.440 grade-point average, good for third in the nation on the list. Bucknell is ranked seventh in the nation for combined grade-point average at 3.320.
On the women's side, Lafayette was the highest-ranking Patriot League team, with a team grade-point average of 3.510. The Leopards are followed by Bucknell (3.390), American (3.386) and Colgate (3.240). On the men's side, Lafayette is tops for Patriot League again with a 3.370 team grade-point average. Bucknell is next with a 3.250 grade-point average, followed by Colgate's 3.050 grade-point average.
A Few Lanes Away
The 2008 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship meet will take place Thurs. -Sat., Feb. 19-21 at Arthur D. Kinney Jr., Natatorium at Bucknell University. The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. on each of the three days of competition.
Team Notebooks
American The American men lost to visiting Gardner Webb 208-69, and the women also lost 165-123. The Eagles next take to the pool on Saturday as they travel to Bucknell for a four-team Patriot League meet.
Army The Army men lost their dual meet with visiting Air Force, 61-57. The Black Knights will swim twice this week, hosting Holy Cross on Wednesday and UConn on Saturday.
Bucknell The Bison men defeated Duquesne 158-130 and the women defeated Duquesne 174-120 and St. Francis (Pa.) 231-63 in their dual meet last week. Bucknell will host American, Lafayette and Navy in a meet on Saturday.
Colgate The Raiders' Erica Derlath swam personal bests in the 1,650 free and 200 back, earning first-place finishes in Colgate's 209-79 win over Lehigh. The men's team lost 162-136 to Lehigh. Colgate will host Boston University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Holy Cross The Holy Cross women lost to Siena, 170-130 in a dual meet. The Crusaders next swim against Patriot League opponent Army on Wednesday.
Lafayette Both Lafayette teams came up short at their meet with Loyola (Md.), Georgetown and Seton Hall, each going 0-3 last week. The Leopards will head to Bucknell on Saturday for a Patriot League meet that also features American and Navy.
Lehigh The Mountain Hawks split their dual meet with Colgate, with the men winning 162-136 and the women losing 209-79. Lehigh swims twice this week, at Rider on Saturday and against NJIT on Sunday.
Navy The Mids had no scheduled events last week. Navy next competes on Nov. 8 in a Patriot League meet with American, Lafayette and Navy at Bucknell.
