Center Valley, Pa.- Colgate sophomore Emily Murphy (Syracuse, N.Y.) received the first Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week award of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Murphy led the Raiders to their second-straight win against upstate rival Syracuse on Friday, Oct. 13, with two individual wins and a key performance in the winning 400 medley relay. Murphy started the day by erasing a six-yard deficit to help Colgate post a time of 3:56.02 in the 400 medley relay. She followed that up by winning the 200 breast, and she came from three yards behind in the final 50 yards to win the 200 IM. Murphy's time of 2:08.95 in the 200 IM was four seconds off the NCAA "B" standard for the event.

In addition to Murphy's award, two members of Colgate's men's team were named to the league's honor roll. Senior Zach Grobengieser (Spencerport, N.Y.) won both of his individual events, the 50 and 100 free, against Syracuse, while sophomore diver Stephen Haskin (Potomac, Md.) won the three-meter competition and placed third on the one-meter board versus the Orange.

Colgate's home-opener is Saturday when the Raiders face Boston College at Lineberry Natatorium beginning at 12:00 p.m.
