LEWISBURG, Pa. - Fourteen members of the Bucknell men's swimming and diving team were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Thursday. The total gave the Bison the highest number of student-athletes on the Men's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll as Holy Cross and Navy were second with 12 apiece.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.

Among the Bucknell student-athletes honored were rising-sophomore Nicholas Hanes (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) who posted a 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester as a chemical engineering major, one of just four student-athletes on the list with perfect GPAs.

Also making the honor roll for the Orange and Blue were Class of 2006 graduates Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and Todd Bauer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) who were both named to the ESPN the Magazine All-District II At-Large teams this past May. Freeman, an All-District first team selection, earned a 3.85 GPA this spring as a mechanical engineering major. Bauer carried a 3.50 GPA as a mathematics major and was an All-District second team honoree.

Elsewhere around the league, behind Bucknell, Holy Cross and Navy, Army and Americans had 11 honor roll members each, while Lafayette and Lehigh had eight apiece and Colgate seven.
