Lewisburg, Pa. - Patriot League and Patriot League Championship Meet records continued to fall during the second day of finals competition at the 2009 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships, held at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium Friday night. For the first time in League history, a pair of individual event co-champions were crowned. The Navy men and Colgate women continued their title defenses and remained atop the team standings heading into the final day of competition.

The overflow crowd at Kinney Natatorium was treated to a photo-finish in the women's 100-yard breaststroke finals, as American's Dorothy Isaacs and Colgate's Emily Murphy tied for first place in the event with Patriot League and League Championship Meet records of 1:01.23. Murphy and Isaacs are the first Patriot League swimming and diving individual co-champions in League history.

The Colgate women picked up their third relay win of the meet, setting both Patriot League and League Championship Meet records in the 200-yard medley relay. The Raider team of Beverly Walker, Emily Murphy, Erin McGraw and Ashley Bottger swam a 1:41.12, shaving over two seconds off the previous record of 1:43.99 set at the 2005 League Championship Meet by Bucknell.

The Navy men's team of Andrew Hetzner, Ari Molina, Adam Meyer and Alex Oldenkamp swam a 1:29.11 in the men's 200-yard medley relay final, breaking the previous Patriot League record of 1:30.41 set by the same Navy team in December 2008. The previous League Championship Meet record of 1:30.76 was set at the 2005 League title meet by Navy.

Colgate sophomore Caren Guyett broke her hours-old Patriot League and League Championship meet records of 4:17.45 with a 4:15.63 performance in the women's 400-yard IM final. In the men's event, Navy's Adam Meyer broke his previous Patriot League and League Championship Meet records with a 3:51.24 swim. Meyer's prior Patriot League record of 3:52.76 was set in March 2008, while his League Championship Meet record of 3:54.33 was set at the 2007 title meet.

The Raiders' Erin McGraw set Patriot League and League Championship Meet records in the women's 100-yard fly finals, surpassing her hours-old records of 54.35 with a 54.08 performance in the evening session.

Navy swept the 200-yard free events, as the Navy women picked up a big win from Tara Chapmon, who won the women's 200-yard free in 1:46.26, breaking the Patriot League and League Championship Meet records Chapmon set earlier in the day, while freshman Mac Anthony got the win for the Mids on the men's side. Anthony's time of 1:36.51 broke the previous Patriot League and League Championship Meet records of 1:36.75, set by American's Mark Liscinsky at the 2003 Championship Meet.

Army's James McLaughlin swam a 55.47 to win the men's 200-yard breaststroke.

Colgate's Beverly Walker broke the Patriot League and League Championship Meet records that she set earlier today of 55.02 with a 54.83 in the 100-yard backstroke. Walker is now a three-time Patriot League champion in the event, having won in both 2006 and 2007.

Andrew Hetzner of Navy picked up another win for the Mids, winning the 100-yard backstroke and setting a Patriot League Championship Meet record with a 48.69. Hetzner's time was just eight hundredths of a second off the Patriot League record of 48.61, set by Navy's Kevin Mukri at the 2007 League title meet.

Lindsey Adao of Army took home first-place honors in the women's one-meter diving finals. The junior won the event with a 259.70, becoming the first Black Knight to win the event since Chelsea Haviland won from 2003-2006.

Colgate continued its torrid relay win streak, winning the 800-yard free relay on its way to setting Patriot League and League Championship Meet records of 7:21.64. The team of Lisa Marchi, Emily Peck, Caren Guyett and Erin McGraw shattered the previous League and League Championship Meet records of 7:26.69, set at the 2008 title meet by Navy.
