The Navy men stand alone as the only team to compete thus far in 2008, falling 176-124 in a dual meet with Harvard. Sophomore Adam Meyer and junior Jon Galinski take home swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Adam Meyer, Navy So., Bethesda, Md.

Meyer wins his fourth male swimmer of the week award after another record-setting performance in a dual meet against Harvard. The sophomore finished first in the 200 Fly and 400 IM events, and placed second in the 200 Breast and 400 Medley Relay. His time of 4:24.29 in the 400 IM set a Navy metric-pool record.

Male Diver of the Week
Jon Galinski, Navy Jr., Phoenix, Md.

Galinski wins his first weekly award after recording his first career sweep in a dual meet. The junior recorded a score of 324.45 to win the one-meter event, and followed that with a 351.00 to win the three-meter event.

Diving Into 2008
After the usual winter hiatus for exams, holidays and training trips, the Patriot League swimming and diving schedule is just about back to normal. The Navy men have been the only team to compete so far in the new year, but that will change this weekend when Colgate, Lehigh and the Holy Cross women return to action.

CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll
Several Patriot League swimming and diving teams have been recognized on the latest installment of the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll. The Navy men's swimming and diving team is currently ranked No. 6 in the poll. while the Army men and Bucknell men were ranked Nos. 14 and 24, respectively. The Navy women found themselves ranked No. 2 in the poll, while the Bucknell women are currently No. 16. The poll has four release dates throughout the course of the season: November 14 (pre-Invite), December 20 (post-invite), February 6 (pre-Conference) and March 6 (post-Conference).

A Few Lanes Away
The 2008 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship meet will take place Thurs. - Sat., Feb. 21-23 at Lejeune Hall on the campus of Navy. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. on each of the three days of competition.

Team Notebooks

American
The Eagles will remain idle this week, and will return to action on Jan. 18 when they host Georgetown.

Army
The Black Knights will remain on land until Jan. 19 when they host Patriot League foe Bucknell for a dual meet.

Bucknell
The Bison finally return to action on Saturday when they travel to Hamilton for a meet at Colgate.

Colgate
The Raiders will open their 2008 schedule with a visit from Bucknell on Saturday.

Holy Cross
The Crusaders will kick off the 2008 schedule when the women host CCSU and Vermont on January 13. The men will be back in action on Jan. 15 when they face off against Boston University.

Lafayette
The Leopards will return to the pool on January 16 when they host Binghamton and Stony Brook.

Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks hit the road for their first meet of 2008 when they travel to Marist on Saturday.

Navy
The Navy men were the first team back in the pool in 2008, as they suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Harvard. The Crimson defeated Navy 176-124. Leading the way for the Mids was sophomore Adam Meyer, who posted two first-place and two second-place finishes on the afternoon. Junior diver Jon Galinski swept the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
