Center Valley, Pa. - Thanks to a first-place finish in the 100-meter breast event (1:09.01) and an overall strong performance at the Copa Coqui Invitational in San Juan, P.R. on Sunday, Army senior James McLaughlin has been named Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week. His first-place effort was tops for Army in the competition, but he also followed it up with solid efforts in two other events. McLaughlin swam the 200-meter individual medley, finishing seventh (2:24.01) and the 200-meter relay, where he took fifth (1:52.34).

There were no nominees for any of the other weekly Patriot League Swimming and Diving awards.

Despite the holidays, some Patriot League schools have been busy. Since Thanksgiving, American has participated in the Ciudad de San Sebastien in San Sebastien, Spain. Holy Cross visited Boston University for the Terrier Invitational and also took part in the Harold Anderson Invitational at Rhode Island.

Five schools will continue their schedules this week. On Tuesday, Lafayette's season continues in Plantation, Fla. for its winter training trip. On Saturday, two Patriot League schools will battle one another when Bucknell travels to Hamilton, N.Y. to challenge Colgate. In addition, two teams will be in non-League competition that day when Lehigh hosts Marist and Navy's men travel to Maryland.
