HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Lafayete swimming and diving team traveled to Hamilton, N.Y. to battle Colgate and Army. The men were led by a victory from Kevin Oswalt in the one-meter diving.
Oswalt finishes the 2009-10 dual meet season with a perfect record on the one-meter board. His victory on Saturday was an impressive fashion, as the second-place Army finisher was a distant 40 points behind Oswalt's 311.90 total.
The men's team started the day off with a third place finish in the 200 yard medley. Michael Black, Cory Schutz, Steve Rubino and John Jenkins clocked in with a time of 1:38.78.
The men also garnered a second place spot in the 200 yard freestyle relay, as John Jenkins, Stephen McCormick, Brendan Lawson and Michael Black finished with a time of 1:28.13.
Individually for the men, Michael Black took third in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.45. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Cory Schutz came in at 59.38, which was enough to give him second place.
The women started off strong in the 200 yard medley relay as Alex Brannick, Dana Purdy, Kristen Tyler and Hilary White finished at a 1:49.01 second place time.

In the individual events, Jenn Nunn touched in with a second place time of 18:13.69 in the 1650 yard freestyle. In the 200 yard freestyle, Hilary White tied for third at a time of 1:58.10.
Junior Caitlin Lowery grabbed a third place finish the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.64 followed by a bronze finish from Maricate Conlon in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:13.59.
The men lost to Colgate 157-106 and Army 212-65 while the women lost 219.5-56.5 against Colgate and 165-112 versus Army.
Lafayette will now take the time to prepare for Patriot League Championships, beginning Feb. 18 in Annapolis, Md.
