Patriot League Member - U.S. Naval Academy
Established in 1845 on the Severn River in Annapolis, Maryland, the U.S.
Naval Academy has changed in many ways since then to keep pace with
technology, tactics and the needs of the Navy and Marine Corps. Unchanged
is the Academy's basic purpose: to prepare midshipmen morally, mentally and
physically to be professional officers in the naval service.
The Academy's curriculum is designed to graduate well-rounded junior
officers who are fully capable of employing the most sophisticated military
equipment and systems in the world. At the same time, graduates are
prepared to make contributions to their ships, squadrons and companies.
