Patriot League Announces 2018-19 Women’s Basketball Academic Roll Honorees (6.17.19)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. 
– The 10 Patriot League women’s basketball teams combined to place 93 student-athletes on the sport’s Academic Honor Roll, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Lehigh led the League with 15 honorees followed by American and Loyola Maryland with 12 student-athletes each. Boston University and Bucknell each placed 10 on the list, followed by Colgate and Lafayette with nine apiece. Navy added six on the list, while Army West Point and Holy Cross both had five representatives.

All five student-athletes named to the 2019 Patriot League Women’s Basketball Academic All-Patriot League team also received a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, including American’s senior Cecily Carl (Sports Analytics & Management) and senior Elina Koskimies (Finance), Army West Point senior Jess Lewis (Life Sciences), Lehigh junior Hannah Hedstrom (Biology), and Loyola Maryland sophomore Delaney Connolly (Chemistry).

Nine women’s basketball student-athletes achieved a 4.00 GPA this past semester: Boston University freshman Ashley Sieper (Economics & Math), senior Lauren Spearman (Health Science) and senior Naiyah Thompson (Health Science), Lafayette junior Tasha Vipond (Civil Engineering), Lehigh junior Hannah Hedstrom junior (Biology) and Hailey Pascoe senior (Psychology), Loyola Maryland senior Alex Barazotti (Psychology), graduate student Bri Betz-White (Emerging in Media) and senior Courtney Vannoy (Psychology).

To be eligible for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
