Patriot League Announces Baseball Academic Honor Roll

2017 Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll 

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League has announced that 72 baseball student-athletes have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Lehigh leads the six-team field with 18 baseball student-athletes named to the honor roll.
 
Lafayette placed 15 on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, while Bucknell added 12. Army West Point and Holy Cross each finished with 10 members on the honor roll, while Navy rounded out the group with seven. To be eligible for the Winter/Sprint Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) during the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s 15 winter and spring championship sports.
 
All 12 members of the Corvias Academic All-Patriot League Baseball Team earned a spot on the honor roll, including Patriot League Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year Kris Lindner from Army West Point. Cam Opp (Army West Point, So.), Jeff Gottesman, (Bucknell, So.), Keifer Rawlings (Bucknell, Jr.), Joe Cravero (Holy Cross, Sr.), Trevor Houck (Lafayette, Sr.), Luke Robinson (Lafayette, Jr.), Alex Woinski (Lafayette, Sr.), Connor Donovan (Lehigh, Sr.) Jacen Nalesnik (Lehigh, Sr.), David Young (Lehigh, Sr.) and Stephen Born (Navy, Jr.) joined Lindner on the academic honor roll.
 
Seven members of the Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll earned a 4.0 GPA or better, including Matthew Ball (Army West Point, Jr.), Gottesman (Bucknell, So.), Alex Salem (Bucknell, Sr.), Ethan Frohman (Lehigh, So.), Chris Kersey (Lehigh, Jr.), Mike Maguire (Lehigh, Fr.), Ryan Malloy (Lehigh, So.), Jeff Shanfeldt (Lehigh, So.), Born (Navy, Jr.), Matthew Wilcox (Navy, So.).
 
Four Patriot League baseball student-athletes made the academic honor roll for the fourth-consecutive season, including Alex Dickerson (Army West Point), Tommy Gambon (Bucknell), Houck (Lafayette) and Woinski (Lafayette).
