Patriot League Announces M-F Athletic Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards (2.14.17)
 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League regular season wrapped up this past weekend, with the Indoor Track & Field Championships scheduled to begin on Friday, February 17 at Boston University’s Track and Tennis Center with the conclusion on Sunday February, 19. The final day of the Patriot league Indoor Track & Field Championships will be streamed live, beginning at noon EST on the Patriot League Network (PLN).
 
Several teams featured some of the top individual performances of the season during the final weekend of the regular season, as Boston University and Holy Cross both watched personal records fall at the David Hemery Invitational in Boston, Mass. Lehigh and Bucknell both competed at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet in Lewisburg, Pa., while Colgate concluded its regular-season at the Class of ’32 Invitational.
 
Navy sophomore Kordell Williams broke the program’s 60-meter hurdles record, with a Patriot League-best time of 8.04 at the Spire Meet in Annapolis, Md. On the women’s side, sophomore Rosemary Brinegar broke the Wesley A. Brown Field House record with an ECAC-qualifying pole vault height of 3.86 meters at the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Madness. Loyola Maryland also competed at  Sweetheart Multi-Mix Madness in preparation for this week’s Patriot League Championships.
 
Lafayette posted a second-place finish at the Monmouth Invitational, with the men’s and women’s teams claiming 34 top-10 finishes during the meet, while Army West Point competed at the Fastrack Invitational  leading up the League Championships.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Will Carter, Bucknell, Sr., Sprints, Moreland Hills, Ohio
Carter turned in a pair of IC4A-qualifying times, as well as Bucknell program top-10 times at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet. He won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96, the eighth-fastest time in the Patriot League this season, then came back and won the 200-meter dash in 21.47, the third-fastest time in the Patriot League this season.
 
M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Toria Levy, Boston University, Sr., Weston, Fla.
Levy turned in a pair of IC4A-qualifying times at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, Mass. She finished third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.62, tying her own record for the fastest time in the Patriot League this season. She also finished second in the 400-meter dash in 54.49 for the fastest time in the League this season.


M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Lucas Warning, Lehigh, Sr., Thrower, Mertztown, Pa.
Warning broke his own school record and his own top-mark in the Patriot League with a shot put distance of 18.25 meters to take first place at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet. He broke the school record by 16 centimeters, while finishing exactly one-meter in front of the second-place finisher. Warning’s throw is one of the top-30 in the country this season.
 
M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Courtney Avery, Lehigh, Sr., Jumper, Wynantskill, N.Y.
Avery won the high jump at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet with an ECAC-qualifying height of 1.79 meters. Her jump was the highest in the Patriot League and tied for 25th-best mark in the nation this season. She will now enter the Patriot League Championship as the top-seed looking to win the high jump for the fourth-consecutive season.
 
M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
C.J. Falcioni, Bucknell, Fr., Thrower, Seymour Conn.
Falcioni won the weight throw at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet with a distance of 52-2 feet, the eighth-best throw in the Patriot League this season and best mark by a freshman.
 
M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Margaret Sliney, Bucknell, Fr., Distance, St. Louis, Mo.
Sliney won the 500-meter run at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet with a time of 1:15.27. Her time is the fifth-fastest in program history and second-fastest in the Patriot League this season. 
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Fritz Isaac, Lehigh, Jr., Hurdles, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Isaac ran an IC4A-qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles winning his preliminary heat at the Bucknell Tune-Up in 8.30, before winning the finals in 8.22 for the third-fastest time in the Patriot League this season.
 
Oliver Moe, Colgate, So., Mid-Distance, Bronx, N.Y.
Moe earned first-place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.06, the fifth-best time in the Patriot League this season. He was also part of Colgate’s 4x400-meter relay team that won with an adjusted time of 3:23.85, the sixth-best mark in this season.
 
Katie Hatler, Lehigh, Sr., Hurdles, Oak Ridge, N.J.
Hatler posted an IC4A-qualifying time of 8.64 in the 60-meter hurdles, while also turning in the second-fastest time in the Patriot League this season.
 
Joseph Breen, Bucknell Sr., Thrower, Northborough, Mass.
Breen finished second at the Bucknell Tune-Up Meet, while breaking a school record in the shot put at 56-7.25 feet. His throw is the third-farthest in the Patriot League this season.
 
Marina Reilly, Colgate, So., Jumper, Oradell, N.J.
Reilly finished in first in the long jump and triple jump, while setting a new personal record in the triple jump with a distances of 11.38 meters. Her triple jump was the eighth-best in the League this season. She also recorded a 5.28-meter long jump.
