CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Three more Patriot League student-athletes garnered weekly honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), it was announced Tuesday. Two of the League’s selections came in men’s soccer, with the third in the sport of football.

American’s Colin Seigfreid was named the ECAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Lehigh’s Ali Famili collected the Defensive Player of the Week honor. The Mountain Hawks added a second award recipient as Laquan Lambert was named the FCS Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

Seigfreid had a hand in all three of American’s goals in Saturday’s come-from-behind 3-2 overtime win against visiting Navy. He scored the equalizer in the 18th minute to tie the match 1-1 before assisting on both of Alassane Kane’s goals later in the contest. Kane scored off Seigfreid’s well-placed corner kick in the 83rd minute to tie the match at 2-2, and Seigfreid again found Kane with a cross just 90 seconds into overtime to give American the win. It’s Seigfreid’s third weekly honor of the season, and his efforts helped keep American alone in first place.

Famili led Lehigh’s defense to a pair of shutouts on the week, both by 1-0 scores. The Mountain Hawks started by holding Yale to just three shots on goal in Tuesday’s victory over the Bulldogs. The strong defensive play continued as Famili led from the back line in the Mountain Hawks’ triumph over visiting Holy Cross on Saturday. Once again the Lehigh defense was stout, allowing just three shots on net against the Crusaders. It’s Famili’s first weekly honor of the season.

Lambert had a pair of blocked punts, one which he returned 60 yards for a touchdown, as No. 7/9 Lehigh made key special teams plays in a 42-19 win over Bucknell on Saturday. Lambert's block and touchdown return gave Lehigh a 7-0 lead, and his second blocked punt set the Mountain Hawks up at the Bucknell 15 for a touchdown that made it 21-6 in the second quarter. Lehigh blocked four kicks overall in the game, tying a Patriot League record. Lambert earns the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week award for the first time.
