CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The collegiate athletic regular season begins with women's soccer games on Friday, and the Patriot League will spend the week preceding previewing all of its fall sports heading into the 2014 campaign.
Preseason polls and All-League Teams will be announced for men and women's soccer, field hockey and volleyball, with the polls released for men and women's cross country. Releases will come out once each day with the following schedule.
Monday, Aug. 18: Women's Soccer
Tuesday, Aug. 19: Field Hockey
Wednesday, Aug. 20: Men and Women's Cross Country
Thursday, Aug. 21: Men's Soccer
Friday, Aug. 22: Volleyball
The Patriot League Football Preseason Poll and Preseason All-League Team were already announced at Media Day on July 30, along with a handful of vides that are available on the sport's Youtube Playlist.
Now, team-by-team videos will be released on Monday, with 21 features including interviews from Football Media Day. The videos will be released on Patriot League Network and Youtube, and announced through the Patriot League Network Twitter account, @Patriot_League, with the following schedule.
Fordham Rams: 10 a.m.
Lehigh Mountain Hawks: 11 a.m.
Lafayette Leopards: 12 p.m.
Bucknell Bison: 1 p.m.
Colgate Raiders: 2 p.m.
Holy Cross Crusaders: 3 p.m.
Georgetown Hoyas: 4 p.m.
Written football previews will follow for the rest of the week to take a look at all seven teams and the Patriot League. The team previews include a synopsis of each squad's offense, defense, special teams and schedule, as well as five questions to answer for the 2014 season. The previews will also include links to information for each team, and any video features produced on Patriot League Network.
Football team-by-team previews will be produced twice per day with the following schedule.
Tuesday, Aug. 19: Bucknell Bison and Colgate Raiders
Wednesday, Aug. 20: Fordham Rams and Georgetown Hoyas
Thursday, Aug. 21: Holy Cross Crusaders and Lafayette Leopards
Friday, Aug. 22: Lehigh Mountain Hawks and Patriot League
The 2014-15 season begins with seven women's soccer teams in action on Friday, and nine playing on the opening weekend. Field hockey, men and women's soccer and men and women's cross country will get underway on Aug. 29, with five football teams playing their openers the following day.
