This weekend the Patriot League will crown five champions as the League heads into the heart of its spring championship season. The 2008 Patriot League Men and Women's Lacrosse, Men's Tennis, Golf and Rowing championships will take place.
Both the men and women's lacrosse championships will host semifinals games on Friday, April 25 and a championship contest on Sunday, April 27. Army is hosting the men's tournament, with the championship game being broadcast on CBS College Sports. Navy, Colgate and Bucknell will join Army in men's lacrosse competition. American will serve as the host of the women's tournament, welcoming Colgate, Lehigh and Navy to the nation's capital all in search of a championship title.
The men's tennis championship will take place at Colgate, starting on Friday, April 25 and concluding on Sunday, April 27. All eight of the Patriot League's schools will vie for the tournament title.
The golf championship will be held at Saucon Valley Country Club with Lehigh serving as the host. Championship play will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27. The golf championship is a full-field event with Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy competing.
And the final championship to be held this weekend will be in the sport of rowing, which will take place on Sunday, April 27 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J. All five of the Patriot League's rowing schools will be in attendance (Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Navy).
The Patriot League kicked off the 2008 spring championship schedule last weekend when it crowned Army the winner of the women's tennis tournament. The remaining Patriot League spring championships are outdoor track and field (May 2-3), softball (May 8-10) and baseball (May 10-11 and 17-18).
