CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for March 3-9 in men and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball on Monday.

Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATT SAWYER, LOYOLA MARYLAND SR., M, Waxhaw, N.C.
Sawyer netted six goals on only seven shots in the Greyhounds 14-7 win over No. 3/4 Duke on Sunday. The Wahxhaw, N.C. native is in his first year as a starter for Loyola Maryland and tripled his previous best of two goals in season-opener against Virginia. Three of Sawyer's goals came in the second quarter, helping Greyhounds erase a 4-3 deficit.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOE FLETCHER, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., D, Syracuse, N.Y.
Fletcher recorded seven ground balls - one off a career-high - in the Greyhounds 14-7 win over No. 3/4 Duke on Sunday. The preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year played a terrific matchup against Duke All-American Jordan Wolf, holding the Blue Devils senior to just one goal on seven shots.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
JACK RUNKEL, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., GK, Fairfield, Conn.
Runkel directed a Loyola Maryland defense that held No. 3/4 Duke to just seven goals on 16 shots on goal in Sunday's 14-7 victory. Of Runkel's nine saves, six came against Duke All-Americans Jordan Wolf and Josh Dionne who entered the game with 12 goals each for the Blue Devils. Runkel also picked up three ground balls in the game.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
RYAN JOHNSTON, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., A, Elora, Ont.
Johnston recorded a program-record five goals in the Terriers' 7-5 loss to Colgate on Saturday. The Elora, Ont. native became Boston University's first recipient of a Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Weekly Award by scoring all five goals against the Raiders.

HONORABLE MENTION
DAN TAYLOR, LEHIGH UNIVERSITY Jr., A, Calgary, Alberta
Taylor tied a career-high with four goals and added an assist in the Mountain Hawks 9-3 win over Bucknell on Saturday afternoon. The junior posted a natural hat trick with three straight goals bridging the end of the second and beginning of the third quarters which turned a 2-1 lead into a 5-1 advantage.

BOBBY LAWRENCE, COLGATE Sr., D, Summit, N.J.
Lawrence handled six groundballs and caused seven turnovers in a pair of Colgate 7-5 victories over Hobart and Boston University last week. He tied a career-high with five caused turnovers against BU.

JOHN CONNORS, NAVY So., GK, Bellmore, N.Y.
Connors anchored a Navy defense that held Lafayette to its lowest scoring output of the season in a 11-3 victory over the Leopards on Friday night. The sophomore had a save percentage of 81.3% and was credited with 13 saves.

Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LOREN GENERI, NAVY Jr., M, Bayport, N.Y.
Generi totaled four goals, seven assists, four ground balls, 10 draw controls and two caused turnovers in a pair of victories for the Mids last week. She scored a pair of goals with four assists, two ground balls and seven draw controls in a 14-8 win over George Washington on Wednesday, and finished with two goals, three assists, two ground balls and three draw controls in an 11-5 win over Lafayette to open Patriot League play on Saturday. She has recorded seven straight games with at least two goals and five points, and leads the Patriot League in goals (25), assists (26), points (51) and draw controls (37). Generi is named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the first time after earning the Midfield Player of the Week honor once this season and four times in her career.

MIDFIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JILL COUGHLIN, NAVY Sr., M, Annapolis, Md.
Coughlin had seven goals in a pair of wins for the Mids last week, including five in a 14-8 triumph over George Washington on Wednesday. She tallied two more in an 11-5 win over Lafayette on Saturday and combined for five ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover in the two games. Coughlin tied her career high for goals against GW and has scored at least one goal in 10 straight games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEXANDRA FITZPATRICK, LEHIGH Sr., GK, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
Fitzpatrick made a career-high 17 saves to lead Lehigh to a 10-4 victory in its Patriot League opener at home against Bucknell on Saturday. She finished with a save percentage of .810 in the game and had 11 saves in the second half alone to keep the Bison off the scoreboard for the final 21:43 despite 10 shots on goal in that stretch. Fitzpatrick stopped 7-of-8 free-position shots in the game. She made five saves in a 7-5 loss to Fairfield on Tuesday, and leads the Patriot League with a .556 save percentage for the season. Fitzpatrick is named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career and first since 2012.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CAROLINE MEEGAN, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., GK, Timonium, Md.
Meegan had 15 saves in two games last week, including six in a 12-11 win over American as Boston University won its Patriot League debut. She earned her first career win in that contest by saving what would have been a tying goal in the final seconds. Meegan also had a solid game with nine saves in a 9-7 loss to Dartmouth on Wednesday.

HONORABLE MENTION
MARLEE PATON, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., A/M, Seaholme, Australia
Paton had five goals, an assist and five draw controls in a 14-13 loss to No. 5 Florida on Tuesday.

MARGIE SMITH, HOLY CROSS So., M, Mountain Lakes, N.J.
Smith totaled seven goals in two wins last week, with a hat trick in both contests.

SARAH WEBER, HOLY CROSS Sr., GK, Summit, N.J.
Weber had a total of 18 saves and a .500 save percentage in a pair of wins last week, with 12 saves in a 10-9 victory over Colgate on Saturday.

JENNA BOARMAN, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., A, Columbia, Md.
Boarman had three goals, including the game-winner, in a 12-11 win at American on Saturday.

KENDALL GARDEN, LEHIGH So., M, Davidsonville, Md.
Garden posted three goals and three ground balls in a 10-4 win over Bucknell on Saturday.

MEGAN ARK, COLGATE Jr., M, Rochester, N.Y.
Ark had three goals in both of Colgate's games last week.

KAITLAN MOYNIHAN, NAVY Fr., M, Bel Air, Md.
Moynihan totaled four goals and an assist in a pair of wins for the Mids last week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
COREY FURMAN, BUCKNELL Sr., OF, Exeter, Pa.
Furman earns his second consecutive Patriot League Player of the Week award as the League's leading hitter made the most of his only contest on Sunday. Bucknell opened its spring break trip with a 4-2 win over Illinois State as Furman went 3-for-5 with a double, triple and walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Bison the win. He also scored and drove in another run to finish with two runs and three RBIs in the game. Furman has a six-game hitting streak, and has reached base in all nine games he has played. Furman leads the Patriot League in batting average (.471) and slugging percentage (.941) and is tied for the top spot in doubles (4), triples (3) and home runs (2).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CONNOR ORTOLF, LAFAYETTE Sr., P, Ocean, City, N.J.
Ortolf allowed just one hit over eight scoreless innings to pick up the win in an 8-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. He carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before giving up his only hit on a single with one out in the frame. Ortolf walked two and struck out three in his longest career outing without giving up a run. He is the second straight Leopard to earn the Pitcher of the Week award after teammate Mitch Leeds was honored last week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DAVID BEDNAR, LAFAYETTE Fr., P, Valencia, Pa.
Bednar allowed one hit and one walk with five strikeouts in five scoreless innings to earn the win in Lafayette's 6-2 triumph to complete a three-game sweep at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. He was making his first career start and got through five innings with an efficient 60 pitches.

HONORABLE MENTION
GUNNAR CARROLL, ARMY Sr., P, Louisa, Va.
Carroll tossed eight shutout innings with three strikeouts and just four hits allowed to pick up the win in an 8-1 victory over Wagner on Saturday.

ANTHONY PARENTI, NAVY Jr., P, Elizabeth, N.J.
Parenti allowed one unearned run on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts over eight innings to pick up the victory in Navy's 2-1 triumph over Penn on Friday.

TYLER HUDSON, LAFAYETTE So., 3B, Orono, Minn.
Hudson went 4-for-11 with a home run, four RBIs and four runs scored in Lafayette's weekend sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson.

JON CRUCITTI, ARMY Sr., OF, Mooresville, N.C.
Crucitti went 6-for-12 with two triples, three runs scored and three RBIs in Army's three-game series against Wagner.

CONNOR FAUST, LEHIGH Jr., INF, Center Valley, Pa.
Faust batted .385 (5-for-13) with a run scored and six RBIs in three games for the Mountain Hawks.

EVAN OCELLO, HOLY CROSS Jr., OF, Camarillo, Calif.
Ocello batted .400 (8-for-20) with two home runs, three RBIs and five runs scored in five games for the Crusaders last week.

Patriot League Softball Weekly Awards
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MORGAN DECKER, LEHIGH So., 3B, Jamison, Pa.
Decker reached base in all but one of the Mountain Hawks nine games in California last week. The reigning Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year reached base in 14-of-29 plate appearances (.483 OBP) and drove in seven of Lehigh's 14 runs during 4-5 week. Decker drove in three runs in the Mountain Hawks 4-3 win over St. Mary's and homered and knocked in a pair of runs off Loyola Marymount ace Sydney Gouveia (currently 12-1 with a 0.60 ERA) in 3-2 loss.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CHRISTINE CAMPBELL, LEHIGH Fr., P, San Diego, Calif.
Campbell hurled 24.1 innings and earned two wins during Mountain Hawks trip to California. The San Diego, Calif. native threw a six-hit shutout over San Diego State - a 2013 NCAA tournament team that was receiving votes in polls. She also added a complete-game shutout of Saint Mary's and finished trip with a 2.35 ERA and a 7:3 SO:BB ratio.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRITTANY YOUNAN, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., 3B, Chico, Calif.
Younan had a hand in nine of the 25 runs scored by Terriers in a 2-3 week with six runs scored and three RBIs. The Chico, Calif. native had a .412 batting average and .529 slugging percentage and swiped two bags in the four games. Younan had a key RBI triple and RBI single in Boston University's 7-6 win over Southern Illinois. She also stole two bases and scored twice in 10-2 win over Providence.

HONORABLE MENTION
JAYME MASK, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., OF, Grafton, Mass.
Mask had a .625 batting average (10-for-16) and scored five runs in Terriers 2-3 week. She had a double and triple and scored two runs in BU's 7-6 win over Southern Illinois.

KRISTEN ZAHN, BUCKNELL Jr., C/OF, Readington, N.J.
Zahn reached base in all eight plate appearances in the Bison's 1-1 week with two singles, two doubles and four walks. She drove in two runs in Bucknell's 4-1 win over Manhattan and stole a base and scored two runs in a 7-5 loss to Akron.

SARAH FREE, HOLY CROSS Sr., OF, Claremont, Calif.
Free hit a pair of home runs and drove in six runs in the Crusaders' 1-3 week. The Calemont, Calif. native scored four runs and had a slugging percentage of .526 for the week.
